Flipside is a festival of Brazilian literature happening annually at the Snape Maltings, Suffolk, England. In this piece I tell how my curiosity drove me into the fascinating world of Liz Calder, a British editor who is passionate about Brazil and its authors. I tell a bit of Calder’s story, as well as I explore the somehow stereotypical images that entail British narratives of Brazil.
